The Last Gets To Clean Up The Mess

Just another Pixar movie I don’t want to miss. Starting in Austria on September 25th, 2008. After Ratatouille, I’m very into this genre of movies. They’re fun, aren’t they?

I’m really excited to see a movie with hardly any dialogue.

Yet Another Four Letter Word - Tips

Whenever Europeans board a plane that takes them to the US of A, strange things are more likely than less likely (did I just coin a phrase?) to happen. There is this little something that’s called cultural difference whose line (Is it a tipping point line?) is clearly drawn by a big pond called Atlantic ocean. It’s been a while since the Pangea supercontinent unified Eurasia and North America, thus it left plenty of time for customs and the way things are usually done to develop in their unique fashions.

One of the differences that both Europeans and especially a threatened professional minority (two million waiters are said to still exist) North Americans have to learn the hard way is “a hot button word like sex, politics, or veganism. Everyone’s got an opinion on it, but no one truly understands it either.”*

We are talking about T-I-P-S. Yet another hot-fuss creating four letter word. It’s a word that Europeans and Americans seem to comprehend differently. Continue reading

An Example of Loyalty towards Spidey

Worth the pain?

Now That’s What I Call A Tattoo

Hardcore fans have to go for it. After a second or so I had second thoughts on my decision to order that tattoo for me at my trusted tattoo shop (trust and tattoo shop mentioned  in one sentence). Thus, I now consider having it sprayed since I might get tired of the Spidey suit.

Also, this reminds me that I need to watch the Spidey 3 movie since I sort of missed out on it last summer (2007).

Rise Above Earth’s Confines

I really get excited when I get twitter updates on the Mars mission Phoenix. As I said, space and the vast universe, we are planted in like a seed, lures me away with an even vaster fascination.

Also I wonder if we are all ever get to enjoy space tourism. According to the quote attached below, the future belongs to those who take off from Earth and head some place free from forces that kept us on Planet Earth from birth on.

The future belongs to those who can rise above the confines of the earth. (Alfred North Whitehead, English mathematician & philosopher, 1861 - 1947)

An F- for Spelling, An A+ for Awkwardness

To who it may concern:

You get a 5- according to the strict grading (defined by an action of passive-aggressiveness) of person A who could not stand the orthography of person B who obviously got desperate over the empty toilet covers that it forgot how to spell. Really desperate. That’s called desperillite. A hybrid of desperate and illiterate. Usually happens when people are angry at something and as a consequence feel like leaving behind a message.

Minus Five or Five Minus (depends on how you look at it), that is pretty much the worst you could ever do in a test in Austria. What an accomplishment, but see for yourself…

Lehr, bitte fülen, danke. That's really German spelling at its worst. "Empty, please fill up, thanks" · Plus, I also took this picture with my cell but I figured I want the picture to look even more pixly than it actually is. Just to poke fun at cell phone cameras...

Oh, Toilet Stories. I simply love them.

It gets even better. You know, sometimes life is full of colorful moments as follows. I was in the bathroom and nearly burst into tears reading this “interesting” approach to German spelling. The guy in the cabin next to me gave me weird looks when I flushed and opened the cabin door and he was about to ask stupid questions. Why? It’s very awkward to get prompted to explain yourself in situations like that… First the sound of my camera going “click” (it was not supposed to do that since I put it on silent) followed by a really evil giggle. In a toilet cabin. Weiiiird. I just went on and laughed even harder. Oh toilet stories.

Do you also come across with weird moments like that? Is your life defined by awkward moments? Tell me your stories.

Crocs Now Absolutely Verboten

Immer mehr Krankenhäuser verbieten “Crocs” - also jene modischen, löchrigen Pantoffeln aus Kunststoff, die in unterschiedlichsten Farben erhältlich sind. Das Schuhwerk soll sich gefährlich elektrostatisch aufladen. by news.ORF.at

Verboten!

As a Red Cross person you spend a lot of time in hospitals. Woot, that must have shocked you. And once you get into some sort of routine in life, you start analysing and certain things start bugging you, first slightly (you don’t really know what’s wrong with that person until you discover the happy-cappy plastic “no they don’t smell at all, wanna try?” shoes on their feet) and after some time you eventually start evangelizing for a ban and whose disobey is put into your personal file just like any other felony.

Let's widen the ban to public places. Hands up! Anyone?

I figuratively jumped in joy (and in fact it was heartwarming) when I heard that croc shoes are not anti-static and thus are not to be used in sensitive areas, like ICUs (intensive care units)… I see it on walls: “Croc’s absolutely verboten” whereas the aphostrophe in Croc’s is a typical mistake in hospital sign printing.

Now, can somebody please scientifically proof that other annoying fashion trends are abolished, too. Please? Anyone?

Plus, why not ban crocs in parks and other public places?

Not Really Here, Ohmm

There you go, this is as biblical as it might (who knows…) ever get on this blog… It’s a pleasure to open a new category, called A Picture A Quote. With this masterpiece of photography.

Absent in body, but present in spirit. (Bible, 1 Corinthians v. 3.)
